Listing Information: When you post a listing, we collect the title, description, price, photos, category, condition, and ZIP code (converted to a city/state for display).
Location Data: We collect your ZIP code to show you nearby listings. Your exact address is never stored or displayed publicly.
Messages: We store messages between buyers and sellers to facilitate transactions on our platform.
Payment Information: When you purchase boosts, Stripe collects your payment data directly. PorchDeals does not see, store, or have access to your full credit card number.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with our platform including pages visited, listings viewed, and actions taken.
Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data about how visitors interact with the platform.
Email Subscription Preferences: If you sign up for our newsletter, we record your email address and subscription status so we can deliver and respect your preferences.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our marketplace
- Enable communication between buyers and sellers

5. User-Uploaded Content
When you upload listings, photos, or other content to PorchDeals, you grant PorchDeals a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, distribute, and store that content for the purpose of operating the platform. You retain ownership of your content. You can delete your content at any time, and we will remove it from public view, though copies may remain in our backups for up to 30 days.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. Deleted listings are removed from public view immediately but may remain in backups for up to 90 days. Deleted accounts and associated data are permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records related to boost payments may be retained for up to 7 years for tax purposes).
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Despite these measures, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
